Kevin Lee Jones, known as Kookie Jones, is a band leader, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter whose sound is deeply rooted in funk, soul, and spirit. Also known as Agua Planterious, he has been a member of The Chocolate Hippies and has led projects including Aladocious, MoonHat, The Groove Maneuvers, and most recently, Keeping Up with the Joneses.

With seven recorded albums to his name, Kookie continues to evolve as a songwriter and musician, constantly refining his craft. Grounded in faith—his gifts, as he says, come from Jah—his mission is to make a joyful noise and spread love and hope through his music.

Raised between Houston and Albuquerque, his connection to “funk on the one” runs deep, tracing back to the church music of his childhood. He describes his sound as Earth Tone Music—where rhythm is drawn from the pulse of the earth, and tone carries melody through rich, soulful expression. The result is music that uplifts, energizes, and nourishes the soul.
